A Note From Tom & Jo

Hey Friends! We get many questions about our workshop. So, we thought we'd address some of them here:

When did your workshop begin? October 2020 (YES- during COVID) with a focus group of 14 couples.

Where did you get your material? Much of it comes from our own life-experiences over the last 40+ years of our marriage. Jo is a retired educator with much training in curriculum development. 

Our workshop is faith-based (Biblically centered). It is both thought-provoking and engaging. We also have a lot of fun!

We've had everyone from young newlyweds to older couples who've been married more than 50 years (over 200 couples have attended since October 2020). We've taken our workshop to several states and have now made Springfield, MO our home base. We are open to working with churches and groups to provide our workshop to their communites.

Although we do not turn anyone away, Marriage Adventure is NOT designed for couples in crisis! It has been created for couples to strengthen their marriage commitment and enhance their communication! We encourage couples who are at a "breaking point" to seek professional counseling.

We are not directly affiliated with a church or denomination- but Tom and I do actively attend church at New Life Church - Springfield, MO.

We limit the size of our workshop to around 10 couples in order to provide a more private setting for couples to be able to communicate and work together as their own small group. You do not have to get up in front of other participants- you work only with your spouse.

It does cost money to provide this workshop and everyone that helps (including us) are volunteers and receive no financial gain. More than half of our participants request and receive a scholarship to help offset their own cost. Previous participants have been very generous to help with this and we turn no one away due to finacial constraints. The current registation fee simply covers the hotel room. Meals and materials are donated. The workshop itself is FREE! Also, we are a 501c3 Not-for-Profit Ministry and donations are tax deductible.

Our website has detailed information as well as a link to the registration form. Our last 4 workshops were Sold Out and we had to go to a waiting list. So, if you are wanting to attend, the sooner you sign up the better!
